The scope of the technologies in play extends well beyond the corporate world. New technology and usage models are bringing about a genuine transformation of society. The capacity of the networks, equipment and software has reached such high levels that it is starting a new revolution driven by content and use. We are only at the start of the ‘user centric’ era where each service provided to users or clients is defined in relation to their profile, use and location, without them having to specify these parameters.
This means that software engineering companies will have to undergo radical transformation, whereby it is the services rather than the systems that need to be integrated. In addition to mastering the technology, we have to acquire in-depth knowledge of the way it is applied if we are to become true business partners to our clients. As a result, our economic models will change, emphasising the way the service is used rather than the service itself, the cornerstones of which are now Software as a Service and Business Process Outsourcing.

The next 40 years will offer major new challenges and Steria will be ready to meet them.
