SAMSIC Iberia choose Steria to implement new ERP infrastructure to improve business efficiency

Samsic Iberia, a company specialised in cleaning services, has signed a five-year outsourcing contract with Steria Spain to set up the ERP Oracle E-Business Suite and the payroll and human resources management tool PeopleSoft.
Samsic Iberia, is a member of the French group Samsic. Samsic has over 20,000 customers in Belgium, France, Luxemburg, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Switzerland and 1.3 billion euros in total revenue. Samsic in Spain has 4,000 specialised cleaning and decontamination technicians in the service, food, industrial, pharmaceutical and health industries operating throughout Spain and reports more than 60 million euros in revenue.

The project awarded to Steria will achieve standardised information and integrate the different processes of Samsic's twelve local branches throughout Spain, as well as improving data visibility.

During phase one Steria will implement the finance modules for Accounting, Purchasing, Operations and Billing departments, as well as the PeopleSoft HCM Payroll tool for all personnel administration processes, from hiring to payroll calculation. In the second phase, Steria will use Oracle technology to enable Samsic Iberia to improve business decision making through a suite of reports which can be provided directly to the Group's head office in France.

Following set up, Steria will maintain the ERP applications for Samsic in addition to maintaining the infrastructure and lines of communication connected to the project, until 2014.

The end-to-end outsourcing service will be provided to Samsic under a Service-Level Agreement, using ITIL methodology, from Steria's Data Processing Centre in Madrid. This centre serves as a shared platform for a number of clients who use similar outsourcing services including Findus, Intervec and Suzuki Motor España. These clients benefit from highly-available systems and specialised support teams at significantly reduced rates.

Pedro Ceballos, Samsic Iberia's Administrative and Financial Director, comments: "This project will provide us with a centralised view and improve our control across our business which will enable us to optimise costs and provide better service to our customers. What's more, our choice of Steria as our provider is a guarantee of an enhanced performance of our systems and ensures that we can upgrade our technology as required by our business and by the market alike."
