Valerie Hughes-D’Aeth is appointed Group Steria Human Resources Director and Member of the Executive Committee
Valerie Hughes-D’Aeth, 47 years old, has been appointed Group HR Director and is responsible for defining and implementing HR strategy for Steria. Steria has grown significantly since the acquisition of Xansa last year and employs 19,000 staff in 16 countries. Valerie will report to François Enaud, General Manager of Steria.
Valerie joined Xansa in 1996 where she worked in a number of HR roles before becoming Human Resources Director in the United Kingdom in 1999. In May 2004 she was appointed Group Human Resources Director. During her time at Xansa Valerie redesigned the HR processes and function and in 2001 won the HR Magazine award for companies who innovate in their use of new information and communication technologies for staff management. She also drove Xansa's growth in the United Kingdom and India through leading edge recruitment initiatives and between 2004 and 2007, employee numbers in India went from 800 to over 5,000.
Valerie started her career in HR with Selfridges after graduating from Birmingham University.
She then joined EDS in 1985 and remained there until 1996, working in a number of HR roles including European Recruitment Manager, European Compensation and Benefits Manager, HR Director for Northern Europe and HR Director for UK.
Valerie is Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development.
