Steria launches in Singapore a new innovation center dedicated to mobility

Within the last 10 years, Steria has deployed numerous innovative services in Singapore, improving the daily lives of 4.5 million Singaporeans and the productivity of the city's businesses.

With 60 Asian and European engineers, the Singapore entity has become Steria's innovation centre for the development of mobility dedicated solutions and services. The centre's expertise lies in its ability to combine the latest communication technologies (RFID, GPS, GSM, M2M...) in order to create innovative services supporting mobility. The vast range of applications covers various subjects such as real time and personalised information for transport times, fleet management, mobility of senior citizens, delivery optimisation and emergency services management.

NHS Shared Business Services (SBS), a unique joint venture between the British Department of Health and Steria, signs up 12 new NHS organisations NHS Shared Business Services (SBS) has been awarded new contracts to provide a combination of finance, accounting and payroll BPO services to a further 12 NHS organisations across the country. The contracts, with a combined value of €16.5 million (£13.8 million), will improve the quality and efficiency of services for the 23,000+ NHS professionals working in these administrations.

Steria recognised for its innovative employee shareholding policy Steria has won the "2008 Employee Shareholding Grand Prize" in the SBF 250 category and the "Special Prize for Best Progress" for its initiatives over the past two years to develop employee shareholding among its staff.

With 16% of its capital held by its employees, Steria was awarded these two distinctions at the Palais des Congrès de Paris as part of the Actionaria tradeshow.

The Employee Shareholding Grand Prize Contest is held by the French Federation of Employee Shareholders and former employees (FAS) with the aim of rewarding companies listed on the CAC40 and the SBF 250, along with non-listed companies as of this year, which promote all aspects of Employee Shareholding.

Steria and Land Registry sign €59m (£50m) partnership Steria and Land Registry have today announced a five year partnership, worth €59 million (£50 million), which will see the European end-to-end IT services company provide a managed ICT (information and communication technology) service for the organisation's Distributed IT Infrastructure (DITI) and Extranet services. The account was awarded to Steria following an eighteen-month intensive procurement process.

Cleveland Police goes mobile with Steria Steria today announces a new contract with Cleveland Police to deliver mobile working solutions across the entire force of 1,400 police officers. The €9.8 million (£7.9 million) Project CUPID (Cleveland Universal Police Information Device), to be delivered in partnership with Beat Systems Limited, will allow Cleveland Police to access and input information in the field, enhancing intelligence-led policing and letting officers to spend more time on the beat.

Steria signs €39.5 million (£31m) deal with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council

Steria, the European IT enabled business services company, today announces a 12-year,€39.5 million (£31 m) deal with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council to provide ICT, council tax, benefits, customer contact centre, reception and switchboard services. The partnership, which will go live in January 2009, aims to improve efficiencies at the council, provide better services for Welwyn Hatfield's 100,000 citizens and ensure a projected saving of €634,000 (£500,000) per annum.

Whitbread signs finance and accounting outsourcing deal with Steria Steria, the European IT enabled business services company, today announces it has signed a five year contract with Whitbread to provide outsourced finance and accounting (F&A) services. The contract, which will be going live in early 2009, will see Steria provide a comprehensive, timely and accurate F&A service, delivered 100% from its offshore locations.

Steria signs major BPO extension with O2 Steria, the European IT enabled business services company, today announces an extension to its finance and accounting business process outsourcing (BPO) agreement with Telefónica O2 UK until 2014. The deal builds upon an existing five year relationship between the two businesses and is due to be implemented from April next year.

BT extends IT service support and development contract with Steria: €92 million over six years (£75 million over six years) Steria, the European IT enabled, business services company today announces the extension of its applications outsourcing contract with BT until March 2014. Steria will continue to support the key applications that underpin BT's UK operations for finance and accounting (F&A) transaction processing, ledger and payroll services. These activities are delivered by Steria through a BPO contract concluded in August 2007.

Metropolitan Police enlists Steria to transform HR services for entire service Steria today announces a new contract with London’s Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) to transform the MPS’s Human Resources (HR) function. The contract will support a significant improvement in the delivery of the MPS’s HR service, and will drive cost savings through the creation of a new HR Service Centre in Central London and implementation of HR business partnering. The MPS expects to generate significant efficiencies to release additional funds for front line policing. In addition, the new system will help the MPS improve the quality and consistency of the service, bring the ratio of HR professionals to employees in line with the public sector, and more effectively support the strategic aims of the organisation.

Steria, an end-to-end IT services provider for companies and public authorities and European leader in the deployment of transport systems with its Taxi Expert expertise, has been chosen, along with IES, representative, and FTPC, to deploy a taxi management system for Aéroports de Lyon. The Taxi LYS system will reduce passengers' taxi wait times and will give the Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport the means to control and monitor access to taxis by optimising flow management.

Steria is to install X-ray diagnostic information systems in all the public hospitals in the Valencia Autonomous Region The X-ray Diagnostic Information System developed by Steria for the Consellería de Sanitat (Health Authority) enables tracing and confirmation of patient appointments, recording of tasks undertaken within each system, composition of the relevant X-ray reports, as well as the generation of statistics on work carried out, all of which is incorporated into the patient’s medical record.

The system is already up and running in five hospitals in the Valencia Autonomous Region.

The contract is valued at 800,000 euros. Steria will, in addition, be responsible for ongoing maintenance over the next two years.

Valerie Hughes-D’Aeth is appointed Group Steria Human Resources Director and Member of the Executive Committee Valerie Hughes-D’Aeth, 47 years old, has been appointed Group HR Director and is responsible for defining and implementing HR strategy for Steria. Steria has grown significantly since the acquisition of Xansa last year and employs 19,000 staff in 16 countries. Valerie will report to François Enaud, General Manager of Steria.

Steria announces the opening of a new Centre of Excellence for Java Agile Development in Luxembourg The Steria Centre of Excellence for Java Agile Development opened its doors on April 28, 2008 in the presence of M. le Ministre de la Justice, Ministre du Trésor et du Budget, Sir Luc Frieden and his Excellency the ambassador of France, Sir Charles-Henri d’Aragon.
The purpose of this Java Agile Development Centre is to reach excellence in the development of high quality J2EE applications. Steria wins multi-million pound contract with QCA The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) has outsourced its service management operation to Steria, a leading European end-to-end IT services provider. The three year contract will not only see Steria supporting ICT services for up to 700 UK users, it will also introduce innovation and flexibility into the QCA environment. It will enhance the desktop estate to support flexible and mobile working, undertake the migration to a data centre environment, introduce a new telephone system and be responsible for moving QCA’s IT facilities from its headquarters in London to its new offices in Coventry in 2009.

Steria Suisse SA and Dolder SA sign a 5-year IT outsourcing contract Steria Suisse SA and Basle-based Dolder SA, an internationally-active distributer of raw materials, have signed a 5-year IT outsourcing contract. Steria will handle Dolder's information system, including its network, infocentre, telephony and ERP application. Dolder's three IT technicians have been transferred to Steria.

FinanceCom and Steria announce the creation of Steria MedShore, a new nearshore entity in Morocco Steria MedShore is the result of a joint venture held equally by FinanceCom and Steria. Its mission is to provide booming European and Mediterranean markets with systems integration and application management services. Steria MedShore's targets include the banking, insurance, telecommunications and government administration markets.
In addition, its goal will be to eventually propel itself to the number one spot among IT service providers in North Africa, through the complementary contributions of its reference shareholders.
The new entity will create jobs with a planned workforce of 500 people to be recruited by 2012.

Steria takes part in the 16th annual NASSCOM 2008 India Leadership Forum from 13 to 15 February 2008 in Mumbai

Steria will be participating in the NASSCOM 2008 India Leadership Forum entitled "Shrinking the world, Riding the wave." This world-wide event is organized by the Nasscom association and brings together CEOs, CIOs, government officials and other luminaries from around the globe. This year's debates and discussions will focus on the globalization of the IT-BPO industry and on India's role in this context.
The NASSCOM 2008 India Leadership Forum will provide François Enaud with the opportunity to speak on Steria's acquisition of Xansa, a company the majority of whose employees is based in India. He will also lay out the Steria Group's plan to place India, which is today a driver for the worldwide BPO market, at the heart of his industrialization strategy.

Swedish Social Democrats outsource IT operations to Steria For improved efficiency and greater security, the central office of the Social Democratic Party, located in Stockholm, is outsourcing all IT operations to IT integrator Steria. The aim is for all 26 party districts in the country to then follow suit.

In Switzerland, Steria develops Customer Instruction Application for HSBC Guyerzeller Bank AG Steria has developed an application for HSBC Guyerzeller Bank AG which automates, facilitates, standardises and minimises validation turnaround time for customers' instructions. Around 150 users, mostly in German-speaking Switzerland, are currently using this new Business Process Management system.
